Taylor Farms has had a long family tradition with the Shire draft horse breed.  In 1900, Thomas Taylor , the Great Grandfather of Bob Taylor - owner of Taylor Farms - farmed using Shire 'horsepower'. Later, he bred and showed Shires.

In 1999 Taylor Farms developed a breeding program and started with 20 superior Shire horses as foundation stock.

Many of these horses were imported from Paul and Walter Bedford of Deighton Farm in Yorkshire, England.

With careful bloodline selection and a disciplined breeding program, Taylor Farms has produced many successful show horses.
